Recently, one of the leading publishing houses, the Emerald group, pledges to raise £50,000 for heart research in UK for the year 2017. The same organization had raised over £21,000 in 2016 for Plan International. The fund aims at supporting a research project that will be undertaken by The University of Leicester. The project aims at developing an accurate and cost-effective diagnosis method that will predict those patients under higher risk of sudden cardiac arrest. Those patients will be spotted out implanted with cardioverter defibrillator that can save their lives.
